Fun and Useful Sites

Do you need help that I can’t provide (hard to believe, I know) or are you just bored and in need of something to kill time?  You've come to the right place!  On this page, I've compiled a list of the useful, the bizarre, the fun, and generally time-killing sites that I thought were funny.  Some very few are science oriented, and most just cracked me up.  Of course, if you’d rather stick to the chemistry and go back to our main page, click here.

To help with the book learnin’:

  • My Chemistry Tutor:  I don’t generally endorse other chemistry websites because I have an enormously swollen ego and can’t stand for the attention to be taken off of me for even a tiny fraction of a second.  Unfortunately for me, this guy named Butler came up with a website that even I have to admit is really awesome.  If you want real-time chemistry help, this is the place for you.

Just for Fun!

  • What’s the Big Idea? Magazine:  If you want to see what else Mr. Guch works on when he’s not doing chemistry, check out this free magazine.  Either viewable online or I’ll send you a copy in the mail if you email me your address at mailto:misterguch@chemfiesta.com
  • Basic Instructions:  A webcomic by the funniest dude around.  Definitely a must-visit!
  • Whiteboard War:  This game is idiotic.  And addictive.  And I love it!
  • Flight of the Hamsters:   I like to play this while pretending to work.
  • Mad Virus:  If you were a virus, how would you spread through the population?  Practice your disease-spreading abilities here!
  • Homestar Runner:  Stupid fun for stupid people.  I’m a big fan and frequent visitor.
  • Eric Conveys an Emotion:  There's this guy named Eric who takes requests to convey emotions on his webcam.  I'll tell you this - Eric is one heck of an actor.
  • Crab Ball:  If you're very, very bored and want to kill some time, you can play volleyball with a crab!
  • The Cave of Magic:  A dumb card trick that's very difficult to figure out. (My wife had to explain it to me!)
  • The Official Ninja Webpage:  Ever wonder what the deal was with ninjas?  Find out now!
  • How Stuff Works:  No, it's not demons that make your TV work.  It's magic!  This and many other mysteries solved for your amusement/amazement.
  • Cyber Nations:  A nation simulation game where you get to make your own nation and grow it over a long time.  Lots of fun for the whole family!
  • Hex Empire:  A much shorter nation simulation game.  Addictive fun!
  • Surviving the World:  I’m not sure how to describe it exactly.  It’s a daily picture of a dude in front of a blackboard telling people handy tips on life.  Much better than my description makes it sound!
